Hot fudge...... just the words make me drool. Our family loves chocolate, and this is no exception. The great thing about this recipe is that it is so quick to whip up, so you can make it last minute to top whatever your heart desires. Because of it's simplicity, it's also very versatile. We love to add some cinnamon to it to make Mexican sundaes (I'll share the recipe later), and you can flavor it with vanilla, almond extract, or peppermint to go with a particular dessert or ice cream. You can also substitute different types of chocolate from dark to milk. However you make it, you will love it's smooth consistency and thickness!
The Best Hot Fudge Sauce
Makes 2 cups
3 oz. chocolate (1/2 cup chocolate chips) dark, semi-sweet, or milk
1/4 cup butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
In a saucepan, heat all ingredients over medium-low heat until melted and smooth. Serve warm over ice cream or desired dessert. Store in refrigerator.
Step-by-step tutorial:
Gather your ingredients. You will need 1/4 cup butter, a can of sweetened condensed milk, and chocolate chips of choice. We mix this up depending on our mood. We love it made with dark, semi-sweet, or milk chips. You can also include a flavoring, if desired.
Put all ingredients into a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
Cook and stir until melted and smooth. At this point, you could add a flavoring such as vanilla, almond extract, peppermint, or cinnamon.
Pour into serving dish.
Serve warm over ice cream or any other dessert you want to be covered in delicious hot fudge. YUM.
It doesn't last long at our house!
