Chocolate Magic Cookies

Chocolate Magic Cookies

These cookies are a new favorite version of our Hot Cocoa Cookies. We think they are magical because they have no flour and create the coolest texture for a cookie. The outside is thin and crispy, and the inside is chewy and gooey! Doesn't that sound amazing? With white chocolate and almond extract, they are filled with some of our greatest flavors. Make a batch today!

Frosted Banana Cookies

Frosted Banana Cookies

Do you often find yourself with overripe bananas sitting on the counter? It happens all the time at our house..... so I love recipes to use them up! These soft cake-like cookies taste like moist banana bread, then they are frosted with the BEST frosting ever. It's a salted caramel frosting that is almost too good to be true. It's one of those frostings that I sample over and over just to make sure it's really as good as I think it is, and then I'm so full on frosting that I don't need lunch. Oops.

Christmas Sugar Cookies

Christmas Sugar Cookies

We all need a favorite sugar cookie recipe, and this is ours! You'll never know it's gluten free, and the dough is so easy to work with! You can cut out your favorite holiday shapes, then eat them plain or frost them with our favorite buttercream frosting - so good! Kids love to decorate sugar cookies, so these are a must during the Christmas season.

Root Beer Float Cookies

Root Beer Float Cookies

If you are a fan of root beer floats, then you are going to love these cookies! It's such a fun flavor for a cookie.... definitely takes people by surprise. The cookie is more cake-like and soft with a hint of root beer flavor, and then the frosting is so good you will want to just eat it by the spoonful. My son decided that since we dip other cookies in milk, these cookies would be good dipped in a glass of root beer. ?I don't personally advise it, but 13 year old boys might enjoy it!

Grinch Cookies

Grinch Cookies

We love the Christmas season for many reasons, but one is definitely the excuse to make these cookies. They get their name from their green color, but they do not share any other attributes with the Grinch. They are most certainly not "nasty, mean, foul, or cuddly as a cactus", but instead are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, minty, buttery cookies that melt in your mouth! Fun to give as gifts or just to enjoy with your kiddos.

Avalanche Cookies

Avalanche Cookies

I'm not sure where these little gems got their name, but I think they should be called "Rice Krispie Crack". They are definitely similar to the well-loved krispie treat, only taken up a notch, and super addicting. My gluten-free daughter is enjoying her first year at college, and her apartment makes these every week. They are easy to throw together, require no baking, and have a really fun texture with the crisp rice and soft marshmallows. If I were to be stuck in an avalanche of these bad boys, I would not complain!

About Me

About me photo

Hello! I'm a mom of four kids and live in Virginia. Two of my kids have celiac disease, so I've been cooking gluten free for 18 years now! It was very overwhelming when my oldest daughter was diagnosed back in 2007, but it has been a fulfilling journey ever since. I know there are a lot of gluten free blogs out there, but I wanted to create one devoted to food specifically for kids.

Through the years, I've had many friends come to me when they or someone close to them have started down the gluten free path. I used to send them an email detailing our favorite brands, what breads, pastas, pizza, etc. are most enjoyed by my kids, as well as some of our best recipes to get them started. I am hoping to help others who may be new to gluten free eating or just want to have some fresh ideas.

Cooking and baking have always been a passion of mine, so when my daughter was diagnosed, my mom told me "you're just the mom to make the best of this". Moms know just what to say!! It has definitely become second nature to me, and I've found ways to help my kids enjoy food just as much as they would if they could have gluten. The trick..... make it so delicious that my whole family enjoys it! Let's get started!
