The Best Hot Dog Sauce
If you've ever visited Provo, Utah, you've most likely heard of a hot dog stand called JDawgs that serves the best hot dogs on the planet. They have a few tricks up their sleeve, but one of the best parts is the JDawg sauce that you can get drizzled all over your hot dog. This recipe is an amazing copycat. We always have a squeeze bottle full in our refrigerator. My two celiac kids don't eat hot dogs without it!
Creamy Black Bean Salsa
A good black bean salsa is not hard to come by, but I've never found one quite as unique and delicious as this one. Black beans, corn, peppers, onion, cilantro, and a creamy dressing make this side dish a favorite with our family! When you take it to a party, you will leave with an empty bowl and everyone begging for the recipe. Personally, I could eat this by the spoonful and call it a meal because it's so yummy, but our family preference is to serve it with Scoops corn chips. Any way you eat it, you will be glad you did!
Butterscotch Apple Dip
When fall rolls around, we all start craving fresh apples and THIS dip! Caramel apples are amazing, and there are a lot of caramel concoctions out there that are divine. But then we came upon this apple dip, and it won our hearts forever! It has a butterscotch base, with a cinnamon undertone that is just so amazing, especially warm! You must give it a try and see how many apples your kiddos will eat just to gulp this deliciousness up!
Lemon Truffle Balls
One of our favorite treats during the holidays is Oreo balls, so I came up with a summer version that is so fresh and fun! It's like eating a little ball of lemon cheesecake, although the powdered sugar coating makes you think of lemon bars. We love them straight from the freezer. The perfect bite-sized little treat for a sweet tooth or school lunch.
Homemade Mini Corn Dogs
Our very favorite gluten free corn dogs are found at the Reading Terminal in Philadelphia at Fox and Son where everything is naturally gluten free! All the other times we get a hankering for a good corn dog, we turn to this recipe. The batter is sweet and has the best corn flavor. We end up frying corn dogs, mozzarella sticks, and hush puppies all with the same batter. It's a huge treat for the kiddos and adults alike!
S'mores Energy Bites
Do you ever need a pick-me-up at around 2 in the afternoon? Let me introduce you tothese energy bites! One or two does the trick, and you won't even feel guilty about it. They are fun to pack in lunches for your kiddos, send to sports practices and games, and just keep a stash in the freezer for whenever you need a bite. They are no bake and come together super fast. Let me warn you, they are so yummy that you may just eat the whole batch at once!
