Whoopie Pies

Whoopie Pies

You know how gluten free finds in stores and restaurants are always so tiny? Why is it that it has to be miniscule just because it's gluten free? Bread, buns, donuts, cookies, you name it. We came across an Amish bakery at our farmer's market and were ecstatic to see they had whoopie pies! They had two piles.... regular, and gluten free. And guess what? The GF whoopie pies were half the size! ! Why? ! Well, I've got you covered friends. This is our tried and true recipe for the best gluten free whoopie pies out there, and they are HUMUNGOUS! You are going to love these chocolatey tender pies filled with the most scrumptious marshmallow frosting! Because they are life size, you may just die and go to heaven.

Chocolate Cream Pie

Chocolate Cream Pie

If our family could pick only one pie to have at Thanksgiving, this is the winner! Of course, that will never be the case, because don't we all love to have a little slice of all the pies? This Chocolate Cream Pie is light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. It's a cinch to make and is always a huge hit with kiddos and adults alike. It makes any holiday or special occasion one to remember.

French Apple Cream Pie

When you want a really unique and extraordinary pie to serve, give this a try. My mom would make this many Thanksgivings along with pumpkin and banana cream pies. I love it because it's a mix of apple pie and cheesecake, two of my favorites! You can make your favorite pie crust, or use a premade one, which makes it super easy!

Chocolate Truffle Pie

Do you have a go-to pie? One that you can usually whip up with ingredients on hand whenever needed? For me, this Chocolate Truffle Pie is the one. It makes it's own crust, is dense and chocolaty, and easily made gluten free! Mostly chocolate and eggs, you can't go wrong with this pie. It's perfect for birthdays, pi-days, Sundays, gray days, chocolate fix days, and social distancing days. Ok, any day really. Enjoy!

Blueberry Pie Bars

Blueberry Pie Bars

We've made this recipe twice in the past week because it's THAT GOOD. All the goodness of a blueberry pie, but in bar form. They are naturally gluten free AND vegan, which is a bonus because we have a vegan friend who loves good desserts. No weird ingredients, just a super awesome method to making them. If you still haven't taken advantage of blueberry season, I suggest you start now and try these bars!

Cherry Cheese Pie

Cherry Cheese Pie Recipe

As I've mentioned before, if you put all the desserts in front of me, I will go for cheesecake first every single time. It's a weakness, and has been since I was a kid. My very favorite cheesecake of all time is this Perfect Cheesecake that is baked and a little time consuming, but worth it. This Cherry Cheese Pie is the cheesecake recipe my mom would make for my birthdays growing up. It is simple, no baking is involved, and it still has a huge place in my heart. In fact, it's what we enjoyed on Mother's Day this year. You can use any pie filling, although cherry is my personal favorite. Blueberry is also delicious!

About Me

About me photo

Hello! I'm a mom of four kids and live in Virginia. Two of my kids have celiac disease, so I've been cooking gluten free for 18 years now! It was very overwhelming when my oldest daughter was diagnosed back in 2007, but it has been a fulfilling journey ever since. I know there are a lot of gluten free blogs out there, but I wanted to create one devoted to food specifically for kids.

Through the years, I've had many friends come to me when they or someone close to them have started down the gluten free path. I used to send them an email detailing our favorite brands, what breads, pastas, pizza, etc. are most enjoyed by my kids, as well as some of our best recipes to get them started. I am hoping to help others who may be new to gluten free eating or just want to have some fresh ideas.

Cooking and baking have always been a passion of mine, so when my daughter was diagnosed, my mom told me "you're just the mom to make the best of this". Moms know just what to say!! It has definitely become second nature to me, and I've found ways to help my kids enjoy food just as much as they would if they could have gluten. The trick..... make it so delicious that my whole family enjoys it! Let's get started!
