Smoked Sausage Primavera

Smoked Sausage Primavera

This recipe has been with our family since my youngest was just a baby. It is a great way to get the kiddos to try some vegetables (although I still have one who eats around them?). The star in this dish is the sweet peppers. Yum! The simple sauce isn't overly heavy, and this dish comes together amazingly quick for those busy nights. I love any leftovers for lunch because it reheats amazingly well. Serve alongside a salad and some bread, and you may just have a new favorite meal!

Pad Thai

Pad Thai

Thai food is a big favorite at our house. Many birthday dinners are spent at Thai restaurants. We have a favorite local spot that makes the best Pad Thai. The owner/chef is from Thailand, so it's authentic and just amazing. We've tried many recipes, and this one is the closest we've found to being just as delicious. If you haven't tried Pad Thai before, give this a test! Your family is likely to discover a new favorite dish!

Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Homemade macaroni and cheese is just the BEST. It can't compare to any boxed mix with its creamy comfort and real cheesiness. We love making a stovetop version of this recipe for lunches, but when it comes to dinner, we bake this one every single time. Super easy, kid friendly, yet tastes good enough to be served at a restaurant. It makes a great side dish to a special meat like brisket or can be served as the main course with a side salad. You can mix it up with different combinations of cheeses, but we love this original version best with sharp cheddar. Give it a try!

Pepperoni Pizza Pasta

Pepperoni Pizza Pasta

I've never tried pasta on pizza, but pizza pasta? Yep, it's a thing, and a delicious one at that. Made with elbow macaroni baked with pizza sauce, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, and topped with pepperoni and olives. You can top with peppers, mushrooms, sausage, or whatever you like on pizza. These are our favorite toppings, and we love this gooey cheesy dish!

Dan Dan Noodles

Dan Dan Noodles

I love meals that have super unique flavors that are simple enough for kids, but sophisticated enough for adults too. These Dan Dan Noodles are just that kind of recipe! There may be a few Asian ingredients you don't yet have on hand, but once you do, you can make this anytime..... and you'll want to again and again! It's filling, easy, and oh so yummy!

Greek Pasta Salad

Greek Pasta Salad

Summer always puts me in the mood for pasta salads! This is a wonderful one with great flavors and additions. I share how to keep your gluten free pasta soft after chilling, which is always a challenge. This salad would be great at a BBQ, as a picnic side, or a yummy lunch!

About Me

About me photo

Hello! I'm a mom of four kids and live in Virginia. Two of my kids have celiac disease, so I've been cooking gluten free for 18 years now! It was very overwhelming when my oldest daughter was diagnosed back in 2007, but it has been a fulfilling journey ever since. I know there are a lot of gluten free blogs out there, but I wanted to create one devoted to food specifically for kids.

Through the years, I've had many friends come to me when they or someone close to them have started down the gluten free path. I used to send them an email detailing our favorite brands, what breads, pastas, pizza, etc. are most enjoyed by my kids, as well as some of our best recipes to get them started. I am hoping to help others who may be new to gluten free eating or just want to have some fresh ideas.

Cooking and baking have always been a passion of mine, so when my daughter was diagnosed, my mom told me "you're just the mom to make the best of this". Moms know just what to say!! It has definitely become second nature to me, and I've found ways to help my kids enjoy food just as much as they would if they could have gluten. The trick..... make it so delicious that my whole family enjoys it! Let's get started!
