The Best Hot Dog Sauce
If you've ever visited Provo, Utah, you've most likely heard of a hot dog stand called JDawgs that serves the best hot dogs on the planet. They have a few tricks up their sleeve, but one of the best parts is the JDawg sauce that you can get drizzled all over your hot dog. This recipe is an amazing copycat. We always have a squeeze bottle full in our refrigerator. My two celiac kids don't eat hot dogs without it!
Halloween Muddy Buddies
We've loved muddy buddies our whole lives, especially since the Chex cereals went gluten free. They became our saving breakfast and snack! I remember writing a personal letter to thank them for being aware of celiac disease and giving my kids so many good cereal options. Back in the day, there were not many! This fun snack gets jazzed up with some Nutella added to the mix and Reese's Pieces thrown in . It's a fun treat at Halloween time that your kids will go nuts over.
California Onion Dip
Do you have a favorite chip dip? My kiddos have always liked the concoction made by mixing sour cream and onion soup mix. This is the fancy homemade version of that dip and it is unbelievably delicious! It's a recipe from an Alton Brown show many years ago, and we've been making it ever since discovering it. Anything with caramelized onions is a winner in my book. Try this out and watch it disappear! Very popular at barbeques too.
4th of July Charcuterie Board
I love an excuse to build a fun charcuterie board for kiddos to enjoy! This patriotic board is full of all good things that will be loved by kids, adults, gluten free, nut free, just about everyone! Savory and sweet are both represented. I even made some blue raspberry Jello jigglers stars..... if that doesn't draw in kids, I don't know what will! We love our country and celebrating with delicious food!
Half Recipe Chex Mix
Our family eats this fun snack a lot, but we don't always need 12 cups of it! This recipe is the perfect size for our family to all get our fill and enjoy. It's also the perfect size to make in the microwave! ! You will be surprised how crispy it gets in the microwave, and you will love how fast you can have this snack prepped and ready to go. My kids will smell this cooking and run to the kitchen to munch. Go make some now!
ATK Flour Blend
This is a good gluten-free flour blend that has been tested and proven to work in many recipes. It comes from America's Test Kitchen, so I trust the science behind it. I usually keep a storage container full of this blend. I still love the Cup4Cup as well as the Better Batter flour blends, but I know this works well in all the gluten-free ATK recipes. It does NOT contain the xanthum gum, so you'll need to add that to any recipes you use this in that requires it.
