Creamy Parmesan Italian Sausage Soup

Creamy Parmesan Italian Sausage Soup

Anything "creamy tomato" is a huge hit around here ...... creamy tomato soup, creamy tomato sauce over pasta, and this Creamy Parmesan Italian Sausage Soup! Made with Italian sausage and both Parmesan and cream cheeses, you'll see why this soup is so creamy. The flavors are so delicious and star ground fennel, along with Italian seasoning and some red pepper flakes. The perfect cold weather soup with warm spices.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to share this soup! It is famous in my extended family and is often made for special occasions like birthdays. My mom got the recipe years ago from a newspaper and I created a gluten free version that we absolutely love. It's a cheesy soup full of vegetables that is heavenly to dip bread in. My brother used to call it "Pea Pot Soup" as little kids often change what they hear to what makes sense to them!

Creamy Swiss Onion Soup

Creamy Swiss Onion Soup

This variation on the famous French Onion Soup is perfect for kiddos! Instead of a brothy soup full of onions that you can't hide, this soup is creamy, cheesy, and covered in toasted bread cubes with melted Swiss over all! Don't worry, those delicious caramelized onions are in there, but they are disguised as cheese and will never reveal themselves unless need be. This soup is just so delicious..... I can't wait for you to try it and tell me what you think!

Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup

Nothing says "I love you" quite like a bowl of chicken noodle soup, and this creamy version is one that I crave when temperatures turn cool, and days are short. It comes together quickly so you can have it ready in less than 30 minutes. I like to keep the ingredients on hand so I can turn to this when it's needed. There are just those days when soup is a must!

Baked Potato Soup

Does anyone else have kids who groan at the mention of "soup" for dinner? I don't know what I have done wrong, because I personally love soup, but my kids don't usually get excited if soup is what's for dinner..... unless it's THIS SOUP. Now, I'm not naive.... I know it absolutely has to do with the bacon and cheese you top it with, but I'm still thrilled to have found a warm, comforting go-to soup that I can have cook in my slow cooker and ready by dinner. Easily made gluten free, I think your kiddos will cheer for joy when you serve up this tasty meal!

Taco Soup

This Taco Soup definitely needs to be added to your dinner rotation! Not only is it the yummiest, coziest soup on a winter evening, but it comes together in under 30 minutes. You can keep most of the ingredients on hand so you can make it whenever you're in a pinch, and it is so perfect to serve when you have guests over for dinner. Kids love to scoop up the soup with tortilla chips (our favorite with this recipe is "Hint of Lime" Tostitos) and you can top it with anything you like!

About Me

About me photo

Hello! I'm a mom of four kids and live in Virginia. Two of my kids have celiac disease, so I've been cooking gluten free for 18 years now! It was very overwhelming when my oldest daughter was diagnosed back in 2007, but it has been a fulfilling journey ever since. I know there are a lot of gluten free blogs out there, but I wanted to create one devoted to food specifically for kids.

Through the years, I've had many friends come to me when they or someone close to them have started down the gluten free path. I used to send them an email detailing our favorite brands, what breads, pastas, pizza, etc. are most enjoyed by my kids, as well as some of our best recipes to get them started. I am hoping to help others who may be new to gluten free eating or just want to have some fresh ideas.

Cooking and baking have always been a passion of mine, so when my daughter was diagnosed, my mom told me "you're just the mom to make the best of this". Moms know just what to say!! It has definitely become second nature to me, and I've found ways to help my kids enjoy food just as much as they would if they could have gluten. The trick..... make it so delicious that my whole family enjoys it! Let's get started!
