Step-by-step tutorial:
Gather your ingredients. You will need a pound of ground beef, your favorite BBQ sauce, yellow mustard, minced onions, instant rice, cheddar cheese, dill pickles, and bacon.
Ready for the fastest meal? In a large skillet, brown the ground beef until no longer pink; drain. Add the water, BBQ sauce, mustard, onions, salt and pepper. Stir together and bring to a boil. Stir in the rice, then sprinkle with 1 cup shredded cheese. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, stir to fluff rice and distribute the cheese throughout.
For the toppings, we use more shredded cheddar cheese, chopped dill pickle, and crumbled cooked bacon. You could do other toppings that you may like, such as chopped tomatoes or grilled onions.
It is such a speedy one-pan meal! Very satisfying too. Meals with toppings are always a favorite with kids because they love to customize their food. Eating it without toppings is also delicious.
One of my favorite parts is the pickles. It really gives it that cheeseburger feel and a fun crunch. I hope you give this a try!
